Zakat Calculator
Work out your zakatable wealth, the nisab, and the 2.5% due.
β updated June 2026
Zakat is 2.5% of zakatable wealth held for one full lunar year above the nisab. Most scholars recommend the silver nisab so more wealth qualifies for charity. Enter metal prices in your own currency β all figures stay in that currency.
Results are estimates for information only, not financial advice. See how we build and verify our calculators.
Add up your zakatable wealth β cash, gold and silver, shares and funds, business inventory and money owed to you β subtract debts that are currently due, and compare the result against the nisab (87.48 g of gold or 612.36 g of silver at today's prices). If you're above the nisab and have held the wealth for a lunar year, zakat is 2.5%. Works in any currency, and nothing you enter leaves your browser.

Frequently asked questions
What is the nisab?
The minimum wealth at which zakat becomes due: the value of 87.48 g of gold or 612.36 g of silver. Because silver gives a lower threshold, many scholars recommend it so more wealth qualifies for charity.
Which assets are zakatable?
Cash and bank balances, gold and silver, trade/business inventory, shares and funds, crypto, and money reliably owed to you. Your home, car and personal household items are not zakatable.
Do I deduct my debts?
Debts that are currently due (this month's bills, instalments payable now) are generally deducted. Long-term debt like a full mortgage balance is usually not deducted in full β ask a scholar for your situation.
When do I pay zakat?
Once your wealth has stayed above the nisab for one full lunar (hijri) year. Many people fix their zakat date in Ramadan for the extra reward and to make it easy to remember.
