Net worth is the single clearest measure of financial health: everything you own minus everything you owe. Fill in your assets and liabilities β nothing you type leaves your browser β and track the number over time. Growing net worth (not income) is what financial progress actually looks like.
How to use the Net Worth Calculator
- Enter your assets: cash, investments, retirement accounts, property, vehicles.
- Enter your liabilities: loan balances, credit card debt, other debts.
- Read your net worth β and recheck it quarterly to track the trend.
Frequently asked questions
Should I include my home and car?
Yes β at realistic resale value, with the loan balances under liabilities. Some people track a separate 'liquid net worth' that excludes the primary home, since you can't spend it without moving.
Is a negative net worth bad?
It's common early on (student loans, new mortgage). What matters is the direction: paying down debt and investing both move the number up β track it quarterly rather than judging a single snapshot.
Is my financial data stored anywhere?
No. Everything computes locally in your browser and disappears when you close the tab.
