What number scale does it use?
The short scale used in US and modern UK English: thousand, million, billion, trillion — where a billion is a thousand million.
Can it handle negative numbers and zero?
Yes. Zero returns 'zero' and negatives are prefixed with 'negative'. It works on whole numbers up to 15 digits.
Does it add 'and', like 'one hundred and one'?
It uses the American style without 'and' (one hundred one). You can insert 'and' manually if you prefer British cheque phrasing.
